Turning the keyboard on
- Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards
- Add New Keyboard → pick Danggyeoki from the list
- In any app, tap the globe key to switch to it
Full Access is not required and stays off unless you turn it on. Turning it on makes the haptics finer and carries the settings you choose in the app over to the keyboard. Either way, nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
How typing works
Most Hangul keyboards cannot tell, at the moment you press a consonant, whether it belongs to the syllable you just finished or the one you are starting. So they attach it to the previous syllable and wait — and the letter on screen flips back and forth as you keep typing.
Danggyeoki does not wait, because you say which one you mean.
- Press — the consonant closes the current syllable.
- Press and pull — a vowel attaches and a new syllable begins.
Vowels
- Pull right, left, up, down — the four basic vowels.
- Lift and pull the same way again — adds the second stroke.
- Up then right, down then left — the compound vowels.
- The two-stroke key — pull sideways for the horizontal stroke, down for the vertical one. The shape of the letter is the direction.
Undoing a press
If you notice a mistake before lifting your finger, drag below the keyboard and let go — nothing is typed. Pulling back the other way does not change the vowel: once a direction locks, it stays locked until you lift.
Questions people ask
The pull does not register, or registers too easily
Settings → Sensitivity, five steps. Turning on Hand fit measures where your finger actually lands and moves the target under it, which helps more than changing the distance.
What does Full Access change?
Two things: finer haptics, and settings chosen in the app arriving in the keyboard without you setting them twice. It is optional, off by default, and the keyboard works completely without it. Nothing you type is stored or transmitted either way — the app has no networking code at all.
How long is the trial?
Three weeks from the first time you use the keyboard, not from the day you install the app. No payment details are needed during the trial.
The trial ended and the keyboard stopped typing
Subscribe in the app to carry on. Even after it ends, the globe key and delete keep working, so you can always switch to another keyboard, and the practice screen in the app stays open.
I subscribed, but the keyboard is still locked
If Full Access is off, the keyboard has no way to read that you paid. Open the app, go to Settings → Subscription, and you will see an eight-character code. In the keyboard's notice, tap Enter code, switch to the letter layer, and type it once.
Turning Full Access on removes this step entirely — the keyboard reads it by itself. The code is tied to the device it was shown on and will not work on another one.
I changed phones
Open the app and use Restore on the subscription screen. If you use the code method, take the new code from the new device — codes do not travel.
How do I cancel?
Settings app → your name at the top → Subscriptions. Cancelling at least a day before renewal means you are not billed again.
